Area bean harvest underway

Hot, dry weather has brought on the area bean harvest faster than expected, noted Jack’s Bean Company General Manager Tom Harmon. Rick Roth’s driver Fernando is pictured at the Holyoke plant as he delivers the first load of pinto beans in this year’s harvest last Tuesday, Aug. 25. Jack’s Bean is currently taking pintos and light red kidneys and will be accepting loads of popcorn starting in early October.
