Baucke assumes Tennant operations

    Dave and Vicki Tennant, owners of Tennant Funeral Homes, announced last week that Baucke Funeral Home of Holyoke and Yuma has assumed the business operations of the Tennant funeral homes in Holyoke and Haxtun.
    The Tennants will continue business in their funeral homes in Sterling and Julesburg.
    In announcing the transition which was effective Feb. 2, Dave Tennant said that during the past 18 months that they’ve been serving the Holyoke and Haxtun communities, they have searched for certified funeral directors to assist them.
    However, he said they can’t find or retain such staff.
    During the last year and a half, they have operated their funeral homes in Holyoke and Haxtun, along with those in Sterling and Julesburg, while also operating the Logan County Coroner’s office.
    “We have simply reached the point where the hours involved have become a detriment to our family and our well-being,” said the Tennants.
