Benefits scheduled at Yuma fairgrounds

Two benefits to help Yuma County communities will be happening soon. The first one is the Aug. 3 Dan Kirchenschlager Memorial Team Roping that supports Hope and Help for Healing. This event will help fund an account that helps patients at the Yuma and Wray emergency departments that are faced with transports they are not ready for.
Hope and Help for Healing donates gift cards to the ER departments for patients no matter the medical emergency. This is the fifth year for this benefit, and it has helped many community members. Entries open Saturday, Aug. 3, at 4:30 p.m., and the event begins at 6 p.m. There will be a Calcutta of the top 25 teams at the end of the third round.
The second benefit is the Turn ‘N Burn For The Cure barrel race Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 10-11. This is the 12th year for this event, and in the past 11 years over $50,000 has been raised and donated to Relay for Life, Angels for Life in the Plains, and Hospice of the Plains.
