Bergner represents Highline on Washington, DC, Youth Tour

    From monuments to museums, Lauren Bergner soaked up all things Washington, D.C., during a June 7-14 youth tour.
    The HHS junior represented Highline Electric Association when she met up with about 40 other Colorado and Wyoming students from other cooperatives.
    Before jumping on the plane to head east, delegates spent some time on the Front Range, touring the Capitol building, Tri-State facilities and United Power, which Bergner said had a great presentation on safety around power poles.
    Once in D.C., highlights for Bergner included the powerful United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as well as memorials for World War II, Vietnam and Korea.
    The youth tour also arranged for the students to meet some politicians while in D.C., including Colorado Sens. Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner.
