Businesses partner to offer local Ogallala Commons internships

High school and college students have the opportunity to apply for local paid internships through Ogallala Commons and Phillips County Economic Development this year.
Community partners make the internships possible, and presently there are internships available at the City of Holyoke, Melissa Memorial Hospital, Haxtun Hospital District, Haxtun Chamber of Commerce and CHS Grainland. Students interested in internships in different fields should also contact PCED, as it’s possible that other arrangements could be made.
Applications are due Monday, April 1, and can be found at http://ogallalacommons.org/portal/reg/index.php.
The goal of OC internships is to help youth and young adults build pathways for returning to or staying in their hometowns. As PCED director Trisha Herman explained, students don’t necessarily have to go off to big cities to start building their professional resumés.
