CDA extends deadline for applicants to apply for conservation division deputy director

Broomfield, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Agriculture is extending the deadline for qualified applicants to apply for a new position of Deputy Director of the Conservation Division. This position, which will also spearhead the department’s climate resilience initiatives, will support the work of the Division and oversee several programs focused on climate smart agriculture. This position is open statewide for those interested, with the possibility for a flexible work arrangement, though frequent travel for in-person meetings in Denver will be required.

The deputy director will represent the Department in climate resiliency discussions, lead the development of climate solution strategies at CDA, and engage with agricultural communities across the state for input and feedback to develop policies that are farmer- and rancher-led.

“Coloradans are passionate about meeting the challenges of a changing climate while ensuring agriculture remains a driving force for Colorado’s communities and this position provides an opportunity for someone dedicated to conservation to make an impact on state policy,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg.

“CDA’s Conservation Division has been a leader in promoting climate smart agricultural practices that are farmer- and rancher-led from the start and we are looking for someone with a deep connection to ag communities as well as climate resilience planning to support the Division Director.”

The application deadline for this position has been extended to 10 a.m. on Monday, April 17.
