Chancellor Horrell leaves legacy at CU Denver

Chancellor Dorothy Horrell retired from University of Colorado Denver at the end of June, but her legacy will live on.

Under her leadership from 2016-2020, CU Denver went from success to significance, from an urban university to a thriving asset to the city of Denver. Horrell was instrumental in making a name for CU Denver as Colorado’s premier public urban research university.

Despite the unprecedented challenges the university faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued to lead with compassion and care for the CU Denver community.

In her final weeks at CU Denver, Horrell received a number of accolades and honors highlighting the impact of her leadership.

At the 2020 Alumni Awards on June 17, the CU Denver Alumni Board honored Horrell as an honorary alumna.
