Chinese cuisine returns as new owners reopen First Dragon

Ever since the closing of First Dragon in September 2017, there’s been a distinct lack of Chinese food in the area. Though the sign remained tempting on its facade, the building at 126 N. Interocean Ave. sat empty until recently. As of July 3, though, a new Chinese restaurant has opened in its place.
Like its predecessor, the restaurant is called First Dragon, but it features new owners, Tommy and Kathy, and the entire interior has been remodeled. Everything is new, Tommy emphasized. Though humble about the work they’ve put into opening First Dragon, the two bring extensive restaurant backgrounds to the endeavor.
Tommy has spent nearly 40 years cooking in various restaurants and would be hard pressed to pin down a favorite item on the menu. Kathy has about a decade of experience herself. Though she doesn’t do the cooking, patrons can expect to see her working in whatever capacity is needed at First Dragon.
