Chris Edwards opens Hometown Heating and Air
Though he’s lived in Holyoke for just a year, there’s plenty that Chris Edwards appreciates about the small town. As an entrepreneur, he hopes that his new business, Hometown Heating and Air, will add to an already great place.
Edwards moved to Holyoke last September to work for Seaboard. Joining him were his wife, Shawnda, and their young children, Dayton, Reggie, Layna and Octavia. Driven by a desire to spend more time with his family, he recently opted for the self-employed route.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning was the logical choice because it’s something Edwards grew up doing and enjoys. Getting to do a job he loves and spend more time with his family is what Edwards considers a “win-win.”
His dad’s work in the industry gave Edwards his first introduction to HVAC. After that, he was in the National Guard for four years and received his electrical degree. With his recent decision to get back into HVAC, he took classes at Johnstone to prepare. Well aware that there’s always more to learn, he is looking to complete additional studies at Leonardi HVAC Training Center in the future.
To schedule any work needed on furnaces, air conditioners, ductwork or ventilation, Edwards can be reached at 970-571-2660. Though he does make after-hours emergency calls, he pointed out that the year-round service plan he offers is a good way for homeowners to reduce the risk of an unexpected emergency.
