CHS suspends operations for daylong safety training
CHS put business at its three Colorado locations on hold last Thursday, Dec. 13, for an all-day safety training that included courses on propane, vehicles, elevators, pesticides and food handling.
The statewide event, held at the Phillips County Event Center, was the first of its kind and drew about 200 employees from Holyoke, Sterling and Yuma.
CHS Grainland general manager Evan Fust said the company was willing to eat the cost of shutting down for a day to ensure all employees have the latest training in their respective fields.
“With three different co-ops, one thing we really want to foster is that sharing of information,” he said. “When it comes to safety and employee education, we want to make that a priority.”
