Raising Ranchers 4-H Club
The Raising Ranchers 4-H Club conducted a meeting Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Ortner Room at Phillips County Event Center.
In old business, Janessa Lutze gave a Leadership Development Conference report.
In new business, members discussed Cow Patty Bingo tickets and Ronald McDonald House. They were reminded that the 4-H Council donated $690 for new rabbit/poultry cages.
The new family enrollment deadline is March 1. The member info meeting (for new members) is March 7 at 7 p.m. in Holyoke and March 14 in Haxtun. On April 14 there are district officer elections, and Citizenship Washington Focus applications are due by Feb. 8 for those age 15 and older.
For announcements, members heard that Feb. 2 was beef weigh-in at 9 a.m. at the pavilion. The first livestock judging practice is in Paoli on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. The meat quality assurance program is April 8 from 4-7 p.m. at the Event Center, and the add/drop deadline is May 15.
The meeting was adjourned, and members enjoyed root beer floats and a game. The next meeting is Sunday, Feb. 24.
