Commissioner decisions recapped from late March to mid-April

The Phillips County Board of Commissioners – in meetings on March 30, April 7 and April 18 – made the following decisions for the county.

Commissioner Chairman Garold Roberts signed the annual operating license renewals for the East Phillips County Ambulance Service and the Haxtun Ambulance Service which will run from April 1 through March 31, 2024. 

The board approved the request from the Phillips County Fair Board to serve alcohol at its beer garden during the upcoming 2023 races at the Phillips County Raceway on May 26, June 30, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22, with the condition that a special events permit is obtained from the City of Holyoke.

The board approved the purchase of 2,347 feet of tubing, well casing and caps for the fencing project at the fairgrounds at a cost not to exceed $10,000 from A+ Fence Pipe Sales in Platteville. Timm Trucking was approved to deliver the pipe for the fencing project for $4 per running mile.

Chairman Roberts signed a contract between Phillips County and Gary Engels for maintenance of the Phillips County Gun Range. The contract will run from present day through April 6, 2024.
