Enterprise wins 3 national awards

National Newspaper Association Foundation recently announced the results of its 2021 Better Newspaper Contest and Better Newspaper Advertising Contest, and The Holyoke Enterprise was recognized with three awards.

Andrew Nygaard was awarded second place in the Rookie Reporter of the Year category. “Writes sports, hard news and features. A triple threat,” said the judge.

Darci Rodriguez and Brenda Brandt got second for the 2020 Emerald Awards in the Best Multiple Advertiser Section category. The judge commented, “Even though the ads were in black and white, they were all very creative with excellent font and art selection. The decision to keep them all the same size really added to the overall flow to the layout of the section ... so much more attractive than pages full of business cards. Very well done.”

Rodriguez and Brandt also earned second place for the Enterprise’s 2020 Holiday Hide & Seek entry in Metro Creative Graphic’s Best Advertising Idea category. “Holiday Hide & Seek is a great conceptual idea, fantastic for engaging readers and fun! Nice photography and layout throughout. And the repeated mouse under Santa hat helps brand the section. Great job!” said the judge.
