Fair catch-it contest applications due July 15

Rabbits, chickens, goats and sheep will all be involved in catch-it competition at the Phillips County Fair for current 4-H members and those who sign up for 4-H for 2020-21.

While chickens, rabbits and goats have been to the catch-it arena in years past, the catch-it sheep competition is new this year.

Applications to participate in any of the four catch-it contests are due at the Phillips County Extension office at the fairgrounds by Wednesday, July 15, at 4:30 p.m. Applications have been sent to current 4-H members, but others are welcome to pick up applications if they’re interested in participating in 4-H next year.

The catch-it contest committee will review the applications to select this year’s participants.

Youth ages 8-10 (junior 4-H age) will be given first consideration for participation in the contests, but all youth age 8-18 may submit applications.

4-H adviser Jessie Stewart noted that the catch-it sheep contest is new this year, and they’re really excited to see how it goes.
