Fair features an opportunity to sponsor the new pavilion

According to Phillips County Administrator Randy Schafer, the County is drawing close to reaching the commissioners’ fundraising goal of $1.6 million to build the Pavilion and Education Center project at the fairgrounds north of Holyoke, with the hope of beginning construction this fall. Around $200,000 is still needed to reach revenue goals.
The fundraising committee, co-chaired by Mendi Lutze and Tim Becker, is offering two new opportunities for county residents to help “Raise the Barn,” as the fundraising slogan states. These promotions will be on display at the Pavilion and Education Center fundraising booth during this week’s fair.
The first opportunity is to buy a livestock pen for the pavilion. Donation levels are as follows: rabbit and poultry cages, $50 each; hog/sheep/goat pens, $700 each; cattle pens, $800 each; and horse stalls, $1,500 each. Pen donors will be acknowledged in a permanent manner. Consider teaming up with another family to donate a pen. With a team donation, all donors will be acknowledged.
