Holyoke hosts entrepreneur fair; Kaden Herman places second

A youth entrepreneur fair, presented by Ogallala Commons, filled the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke on Wednesday, May 4, with area students in grades 6-12 and their projects.

The E-Fair included 13 middle school projects and four high school projects from 37 youth entrepreneurs. Students could enter existing businesses or business concepts that they thought would work in their rural community. Students were required to make a display board, write a business plan and articulate their idea to multiple judges.

Winners received cash prizes that they can use as a foundation for continuing their business.

Middle school winners included:

— First place: Amazing Jae’s Kreations, Jaelynn Miner, Destinations Career Academy of Colorado.

— Second place: Kaden’s Klothing, Kaden Herman, Holyoke.

— Third place: NOCO Western Jewelry, Laque Premo, Wiggins.

High school winners included:

— First place: The Shirt Off My Back, Ryan Davis, Haxtun.

— Second place: Crazy Farm, Cierra Dick and Nevaeh Dick, Haxtun.

— Third place: Colorado Belle, Taylinn Fitzsimmons and Teresa Gomez, Wiggins.
