Holyoke Lumber open for business

Transition is ongoing at Holyoke’s lumberyard, as Martin and Rosa Montelongo get settled into the new Holyoke Lumber, picking up where Tom Wirges left off with Holyoke Building Center. The Montelongos purchased the business Nov. 3 from Wirges, who owned it for five years.
The Montelongos, who live in Wray, own Trunchbull Services LLC, a construction company based in Guymon, Oklahoma. In that line of work, they often found themselves shopping at Holyoke Building Center anyway, and they described taking ownership as a natural progression. “We decided to invest in this business to help the town,” they said, seeing it as an opportunity that would be beneficial to both themselves and to the community.
While much will stay the same as it has been at the lumberyard, the two do plan to make some changes, including additional inventory.
