Hospital district declares local disaster emergency

At a special meeting March 30, the East Phillips County Hospital District Board of Directors adopted a declaration of local disaster emergency resolution.

The resolution cites that on March 11 the World Health Organization declared a worldwide outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic and on March 13 the president of the U.S. issued a federal emergency declaration.

The board felt it was appropriate to rapidly address the community spread of COVID-19 and subsequent cascading impacts such as economic distress to protect the health and safety of the public.
