Jensen brings vision of pride and progress to admin role

Pam Jensen has clocked in as county administrator after being hired by Phillips County Board of Commissioners at the end of last month.
She brings a diverse background in management, administration and public service to the position, which she assumed Monday, June 10.
Jensen said her background reflects a love for variety in her day-to-day responsibilities, which is fortunate, considering the spectrum of duties associated with the administrator role. Once it became vacant following the sudden death of Randy Schafer in March, county officials spent weeks just drafting the job description.
Jensen said she hopes to model her career as administrator on the city’s motto of “Pride and Progress.”
“I’ll be asking myself how I can progress Holyoke forward, while still maintaining the atmosphere of a small town,” she said.
Jensen last served in an administrative and supervisory role with health care consortium Kaiser Permanente in Denver. She has also worked for the city and county of Denver, as well as various emergency agencies as a dispatcher.
