MMH rehab department adds 3 new therapists
Melissa Memorial Hospital’s rehabilitation department has three new full-time employees ready to see patients in the areas of physical, speech and occupational therapy.
Joel Graphel, a doctor of physical therapy, started working in the department Aug. 4.
He grew up in Hastings, Nebraska, and graduated from Saint Cecilia High School in 2013. After one year at Hastings College, Graphel attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2017.
With rotations in several communities of various sizes, Graphel graduated from the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha as a doctor of physical therapy in May 2021.
Graphel developed an interest in the industry after needing physical therapy for his own injuries. He enjoys sports therapy and working with patients with back/neck/shoulder pain as well as helping older patients with balance issues.
