MMH reports savings from 340B program

East Phillips County Hospital District dba Melissa Memorial Hospital formally committed to the American Hospital Association 340B Good Stewardship Principles in 2019, and MMH is excited to publicly share the value of the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

Participating hospitals can save thousands of dollars through rebates on everyday outpatient drugs, and the community benefits by the freeing up of resources for new service lines and programs.

MMH estimates that the 340B Retail Pharmacy Program (prescription drug) and the Hospital Outpatient Program (emergency room, same-day surgery, etc.) will combine to save the hospital approximately $459,000 in 2020.

With the 340B savings already gained, MMH has been able to greatly expand the services it provides to the community. This expansion of services includes but is not limited to dental services, optical services and an expanded range of specialty doctors.
