Monica Perry driven by love of community as new Chamber director

    “I just love this community,” Monica Perry finally summarized after trying to describe just what makes Holyoke special to her. Things like support from others and a willingness to lend a hand set it apart, she elaborated.
    That deep appreciation for the community will serve her well as Perry assumes the role of Holyoke Chamber of Commerce executive director. She started Dec. 12 and is in the process of learning the ropes with the help of a large support team.
    At the moment, Perry is holding office hours Mondays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. As she fields phone calls and emails and processes new memberships and renewals, the public is encouraged to visit the office. If she’s out during those hours, she can be reached at 970-520-8114. The first big event Perry will be handling is the Chamber Gala in February, and she’s already working toward getting that organized.
