New FBLA officers take oaths of office at end-of-year ceremony

    Holyoke FBLA wrapped up the 2018-19 year and installed its new officer corps at the end-of-year ceremony held in the Holyoke Junior High Commons area last Tuesday, April 30.
    Holyoke High School principal Shane Walkinshaw led the proceedings and congratulated the group on a successful year, which included adding seven new members and earning six placings at state, three of which will advance to nationals in San Antonio, Texas, in June. Kylie Purkeypile was also recognized for being chosen to represent District 4 as a state FBLA officer in June.
    New officers sworn in for 2019-20 include president Josie Herman, vice presidents Emily Jelden and Lali Marquez, secretary Shianne Willmon, treasurer Slaten Burris, information officer Lauren Herman, fundraising coordinator Jackie Valenzuela and student council representative Victor Baeza.
    Officers for 2018-19 were president Kaylee Camblin, vice president Josie Herman, secretary Valenzuela, treasurer Savannah Burris, information officer Jelden, fundraising coordinator Marquez and student council representative Purkeypile.
