Pelle ready to serve home county as emergency manager

Broc Pelle assumed his duties as Phillips County Emergency Manager on May 1, and he’s excited to be back in the area.

Pelle was born and raised in Holyoke and graduated from HHS in 2012. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and then worked as a police officer in the Boulder Police Department for four years.

He cited his background as having prepared him to be able to deal with the different situations that may arise in his position as emergency manager, which requires handling any natural or manmade emergencies in the county. He also works as a liaison with the state regarding state and federal aid if an emergency necessitates it.

Pelle acknowledged all of the teamwork and collaboration that’s made the Phillips County emergency management program successful. He said he looks forward to maintaining and building on the relationships among the various emergency departments and working as a team to make sure the county is prepared to deal with any type of situation.
