Perfection Lawn sprouts from passion for lawn care

    It’s 30 degrees right now, and it’s hard to believe spring and summer are just around the corner. Perfection Lawn LLC is ready for warm weather and ready to get local lawns in tip-top shape this year.
    Rick Cumming and his wife Jessica, owners of Perfection Lawn LLC, recently launched the new business.
    A four-step lawn care program is the focus of the business. The first treatment will be in April, followed by two more in late spring and August, and a final one in the fall to winterize the lawn and give it a jump start for the next year.
    The program includes fertilizer application, weed and crabgrass control, and grub prevention.
    “Your grass needs fed throughout the season,” said Cumming, noting lawns will see the best results when the program is carried out throughout the season and in subsequent years.
    He will be working as a licensed commercial applicator and will be utilizing the guidance of two local lawn care specialists.
    Cumming has plenty of personal experience, too, having started lawns from scratch in addition to installing his own sprinkler systems. “Yardwork has always been a passion of mine,” he said, noting he wouldn’t put anything on a customer’s lawn that he hasn’t put on his own.
    About 10 years ago, Cumming helped the local code enforcer with some lawns in the community. It sparked a desire to make Holyoke the best that it could be. “I want to keep Holyoke beautiful one lawn at a time,” said Cumming.
    He’s glad he now has the time to fulfill a business dream that he’s wanted to do for a long time.
    Right now, Cumming would like to see what kind of a demand there is in Holyoke so he can get customers on the schedule for Perfection Lawn’s four-step program before the season starts. He is available to measure lawns and give free estimates for the program’s cost.
