Phillips County students sweep Virtual E-Fair

Entrepreneurs claim $2,000 in prizes

On Thursday, July 21, three Phillips County students competed in Ogallala Commons’ 2022 Summer Virtual E-Fair. All competitors were asked to prepare a business plan that discussed their idea, their financial situation and future plans, as well as their marketing strategies, along with a brief video pitch for judges’ review.

After a final live interview session with judges via Zoom to share their projects, answer questions and present a final pitch, Ogallala Commons announced that the three Phillips County students would walk away with a total of $2,000 in prize money to grow their businesses.

Kaden Herman won the grand prize and a total investment of $1,000 for his business Kaden’s Klothing, a customized clothing endeavor that promotes community spirit by selling Dragon gear.

Jaelynn Miller prepared and pitched her business Amazing Jae’s Kreations, which has been selling freeze-dried treats since she started her business in March. She was awarded an investment of $750.
