Special RRWCD meeting is Jan. 9-10

The Board of Directors of the Republican River Water Conservation District will be holding a special meeting in Thornton Thursday, Jan. 9, from 1:30-5 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 10, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Holiday Garden Inn, 14275 Lincoln St.

Agenda items include board president’s report; report by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser; report by State Engineer Kevin Rein; presentation by Russ Sands and Greg Johnson, Colorado Water Conservation Board, along with Kara Sobieski, Wilson Water Group on technical update on state water plan; presentation by Reagan Waskom and Meagan Schipanski on the Ogallala Water Coordinate Agriculture Project; presentation by William Burnidge, Nature Conservancy on the South Fork Republican Restoration Coalition; resolution to apply for a $5.515 million loan from CWCB; and program updates and reports from the RRWCD’s engineer, federal and state lobbyists, and legal counsel.
