State fair celebrates 150 years

Join in the fun by entering contests

    The Colorado Department of Agriculture invites everyone to be part of the 2019 Colorado State Fair. The fair’s general entry department is a gateway for people of all ages to participate in still exhibit competitions.
    The 2019 Colorado State Fair will take place Aug. 23-Sept. 2 in Pueblo.
    From baking and beer to poetry and pet photos, still exhibits at the fair provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase creative talent and skill while competing for an iconic state fair blue ribbon.
    General entry categories include amateur art, arts and crafts, beer and wine, all-age coloring contest, dolls, FFA ag mechanics, farm and garden, fine arts, floriculture, needle arts, pantry, poetry, porcelain art, quilts and sponsored competitions.      
    Details for general entry competitions and special contests are listed on the Colorado State Fair website at colo radostatefair.com. Submissions will be accepted through Friday, July 19, and may be submitted online or through the Colorado State Fair general entry office at 1001 Beulah Ave., Pueblo, CO 81004.
