Sullivan joins Holyoke Enterprise staff

Kelley Sullivan now sports a byline in The Holyoke Enterprise, as she joined the staff last week as a reporter.
A 1980 graduate of HHS and a native of Phillips County, Sullivan returned to Holyoke earlier this year after having lived elsewhere for close to 30 years.
At the Enterprise, Sullivan will be handling general assignment reporting, including hospital board meetings, and high school football and boys golf, for starters.
She replaces Karen Ortner, who returned to her teaching position at HHS. Sullivan joins managing editor Darci Tomky, office manager Ashley Sullivan, reporter Jes-c French and publisher Brenda Brandt at the Enterprise.
Brandt is pleased to have Sullivan on board and noted that her familiarity with the area and background of having grown up in the community are definite assets as she begins her role at the Enterprise.
After high school, Sullivan attended Aims Community College in Greeley for two years, then returned to Holyoke, where she worked at Timmerman Feeding Co. for four and a half years.
She returned to school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing.
She lived in Fort Collins for close to 20 years, working for the Larimer County Department of Human Services for much of that time.
After moving to Denver, Sullivan was employed with the City and County of Denver in the office of economic development, division of workforce development from 2010-16.
For the first three years, she was an administrative assistant with the Employment First program, and for the next three, she worked as a business development associate with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.
When changes were made for the entire Division of Workforce Development, Sullivan saw it as an opportunity to switch gears into an entirely different field.
She returned to Holyoke in February, where her mom, Marianne, lives. She was a substitute teacher last spring and has been employed as a cook at Ballyneal through the summer.
