Grants support career pathways for students

The Northeast Regional Council, a program of El Pomar Foundation, has granted $396,720 to two local organizations — Northeast Colorado Board of Cooperative Educational Services and Sedgwick County Economic Development Corporation — to support career pathways for students in the region.

The Northeast Regional Council consists of local leaders from Cheyenne, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties. As elected officials, executive directors, nurses and loan officers, the members of the council use their knowledge of the region to make funding recommendations to the Trustees of El Pomar Foundation.

The grants to Northeast Colorado BOCES and Sedgwick County Economic Development Corporation reflect the council’s interest in economic development and its investment in youth. The grant to Northeast Colorado BOCES serves the 12 districts  in that BOCES as well as the 22 districts in East Central BOCES, four districts in Morgan County and one district in Sterling.
