Herman awarded full-ride Boettcher Scholarship

Austin Herman, a senior at Holyoke High School, has been selected as a recipient of the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship.
The scholarship includes virtually all expenses to attend the Colorado school of his choice: full tuition, fees, a book allowance and an annual stipend for living expenses. The award is granted for eight semesters at either a public or private four-year college or university in the state.
Herman, the son of Dennis and Trudy Herman of Holyoke, plans to attend either the University of Colorado or Colorado State University.
He plans to major in biomedical engineering. After his undergrad education and most likely a master’s degree, Herman hopes to attend medical school to become a neurologist or neurosurgeon.
Established in 1952, the Boettcher Scholarship program awards 42 scholarships each year and has established a network of more than 2,400 Boettcher Scholars.
More than 1,400 of Colorado’s top students apply each year. In the competitive and rigorous selection process, Herman stood out with his accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.
