‘Anchored’ event June 23

Not everyone will get a nice, relaxing weekend on the beach this summer, so women are invited to refresh their souls in a new way at “Anchored: A Women’s Gathering” Friday, June 23, at First Baptist Church, 1000 E. Johnson St., Holyoke.

From 6-9 p.m., women of all ages (10 and up) will be encouraged to anchor their hearts and lives on the promises of Jesus through relatable stories shared by women also on the journey, fellowship with others, delicious food and worship by Amber Schroetlin.

Event host Samantha Krieger said the theme verse is Hebrews 6:19, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Presenting ways to be anchored in faith, hope and love are guest speakers Jade Goldenstein, Cara Wilson and Minnie Rodriguez.

Goldenstein is a Holyoke native who loves kids, sleep (in theory) and anything covered in chocolate. She heads up the children’s ministry at Holyoke First Baptist Church and will be teaching elementary art in Holyoke this fall. She is married to Luke, and together they have four children: Cooper, Adison, Kyle and Cole.
