‘Rural Vibrancy’ showcases photography of Cathy Schull

Yuma, Colo. – Cathy Shull, Morgan County photographer, is the featured artist at The Orphanage during the month of March. The show, titled “Rural Vibrancy,” will highlight 50 of Shull’s photographs and runs from Saturday, March 4 through Saturday, April 8.

Although Cathy Shull has lived all over the United States, her roots are in Morgan County where she was born. She is a passionate rural advocate as evidenced by her consulting business that works with nonprofits, small businesses and governments in rural Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Nebraska. Shull also owns an online rural event guide, promoting events in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. You have probably heard of Discover Rural.

As she traveled the territory, Shull was struck by the beauty of the plains landscape and started taking photos with her iPhone. Sometimes, she would pull over and stop, sometimes not, sometimes she just stopped in the middle of the road. But always, she would share the photos with her friends, who started asking her for prints.
