110 attend Krueger reunion in Colorado Springs

The triennial family reunion of the descendants of Simon and Ida Krueger was held in Colorado Springs at the Hotel Eleganté Conference & Event Center Aug. 2-4, hosted by Leslie (Krueger) Hart and family (including assistance from Leslie’s sisters, Dawn and Samie) and Gary Krueger and family — members of the Russell and Donna Krueger family.

Friday evening activities included “Who Am I” and “Plastic Goodie Ball.” Both activities sparked fun, laughter and a bit more information about family members.

Saturday morning included a buffet breakfast, followed by family photographs taken in the hotel’s courtyard. The afternoon was free time for families, with an assortment of activities and places to visit nearby. Saturday evening included a catered meal from Dickey’s Barbecue (delivered to the hotel’s family meeting room), followed by a talent show presentation by Dan Krueger, then verbal Trivial Pursuit (led by Leslie), and then family Bingo (also led by Leslie and family). Leslie had several prizes (beautifully designed and created by herself) to present to winners of the various games. Fun was had by all.

The evening also included a silent auction, conducted by Don Saling, of a variety of Krueger memorabilia items. One of the items was a picture of the famous Jesse James sitting next to Ida (VanBoening) Krueger’s father.
