2 more deaths recorded

Northeast Colorado counties have seen two more COVID-19 deaths this past week, raising the total number of deaths in the area to 56.

Kiowa County has recorded its first positive case since the start of the pandemic, meaning all 64 Colorado counties have had at least one positive case.

Positive COVID-19 cases were reported Monday, Sept. 28, as follows:

­— Northeast Colorado: 1,859 cases (increase of 92 in the last week), including Morgan County, 750; Logan County, 875; Yuma County, 123; Washington County, 62; Phillips County, 34; and Sedgwick County, 15. The Northeast Colorado Health Department also reported 56 total deaths, including Morgan County with 48, Logan County six and Sedgwick and Yuma counties one each.

— Colorado: 69,490 cases in 64 counties, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This represents a 6.3% increase in the past week, compared to 5.9% the previous week and 3.6% the week before that.

Among people in Colorado who tested positive for COVID-19, 2,044 have died, and 1,945 listed COVID-19 as the reason for death on a death certificate.

— United States: 7,095,422 cases for a 4.6% increase this week and 204,328 total deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

— The world: 33,206,004 confirmed cases for a 6.7% increase this week and 999,239 deaths for a 3.9% increase this week in 235 countries, areas or territories, according to the World Health Organization.
