2020 comes roaring in with Because bash

Several dozen people rang in the new year and new decade with an iconic Roaring ’20s party to raise funds for a nonprofit called Because. Board member Karina Davis said around 70 people came to the Dec. 31 event at Phillips County Event Center and around $3,700 was added to the Because bank account.

The New Year’s Eve party included a silent auction, cash prizes, dancing, a photo booth, bottomless snacks and, of course, a toast at midnight.

Because, which began in the ’80s, has recently been revived and is continuing its mission to help people in need in Phillips County. This fundraiser will help with small requests that are made to Because throughout the year.
