4-H youth learn from the past and for the future
Learning all sorts of skills from the past and for the future, about 25 Phillips County 4-H members are taking part in this year’s 4-H & More Summer Camp July 10-15 at the Phillips County Event Center, Phillips County Museum and Camp Machasay.
Monday, July 10, youth learned to fly drones, use GPS and build and program robots. Tuesday, the group moved on to nutrition, baking and leathercraft.
Wednesday is a day to experience the past, as members spend the day at the museum learning about home life in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
A service learning project is scheduled Thursday, and members will sew pillow cases to donate to Children’s Hospital in Denver. Textile projects will continue as members tie-dye their own T-shirts.
Friday, July 14, will focus on physics and rocketry, before those staying for the overnight portion of the camp will enjoy activities at Camp Machasay.
