Adopt-a-family support needed

Zion Lutheran Church in cooperation with Phillips County Department of Human Services is asking community members to adopt a family this Christmas. Those interested should call Teri Waln at the church at 970-854-2615 by Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Additional support is requested this year, as 60 families are on the adopt-a-family list. This is double the number of families served a year ago.

The church will provide the address, names and kids’ ages for a local individual or family. Participants can then purchase gifts, which will be added to items provided/gathered by the church — food, hygiene items, cleaning supplies, paper products, toys and books.

This box can be picked up at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 1-4 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m-4 p.m.; or Friday, Dec. 20, from 9-11 a.m. so participants can deliver it to the adopted families the week before Christmas.

Zion Lutheran is also happy to accept any monetary donations for the program.
