Advance Child Tax Credit payments to start in July

Qualifying taxpayers will soon be receiving advance payments for the Child Tax Credit, which was expanded for 2021 as part of the Biden administration’s American Rescue Plan.

On June 11, the administration announced that Monday, June 21, will be Child Tax Credit Awareness Day.

These advance payments will be provided monthly beginning July 15 and will continue through December if the Internal Revenue Service has already processed an eligible taxpayer’s 2020 or 2019 tax return.
