And the trees came tumbling down

Two large trees, one on each side of the front of the Phillips County Court House, have been an iconic part of the courthouse square for decades. With recent concerns that the trees were leaning toward the courthouse and were too close to the foundation, the tough decision was made to cut them down. Crews from Tree King were on site Tuesday, May 5, to get the job done. Jon King explained that the branches were cut first and piled at the base of the trunks of the 80-foot trees.
