April 15 benefit to raise funds for fire relief

Event includes meal, live music, auctions

Northeast Colorado is coming together for a community fire relief benefit for the March 6-8 Phillips/Logan County wildfire. The event begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Haxtun Fire Hall.
The evening includes a freewill dinner and live music by Braydon Zink and Madison Rodges. The night will also feature a special recognition of the men and women who wore bunker gear.
A live auction and silent auction are being organized. To donate items, contact Laura Knode at 970-774-4500.
Proceeds from the event will be split evenly between local volunteer fire departments that were on scene at the fire (50 percent) and the relief fund at the Haxtun Community Federal Credit Union (50 percent).
Those affected by the fire will benefit from 100 percent of the funds being collected at the credit union. An advisory board has been established to help disperse those funds where they are needed.
The application deadline for available funds has been extended to Thursday, April 20. For more information, contact Kristin Hadeen at 970-520-5999.
For questions about the April 15 benefit event, contact committee members Paige Thompson, Haley Harms, Marc Bornhoft, Holly Kurtzer, Kindra Plumb, Tammy Webster, Pam Haynes, Amanda Mavis, Julie Thayer, Alicia Schram or Candie Salyards.
