Coffee shop announces name change
    As of Feb. 1, Holyoke’s downtown coffee shop at 215 N. Interocean Ave. will be known as Brewed Awakening Coffee and Bake Shop. Owner Dale Berg said that besides the name, little has changed. The business will still offer the same menu as when it was Heidi’s Coffee and Bake Shop. Hours are still Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The shop can be reached at 970-854-2253, and a new addition is a texting option at 970-466-3088.
    A separate business, Heidi’s Cakes, is still in operation at a different location. Heidi Spitz can be reached at 970-580-9549.

Friends of the Library to host luncheon
    In honor of the library’s 50th anniversary at the Heginbotham residence, Friends of the Library is hosting a “Reading is Golden” salad luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Phillips County Museum. Anyone interested in learning more about the organization is invited to attend and take a salad.
    
Advertisers sought for next special section
    The four Johnson Publications newspapers are gearing up for their next special section called “Have the Time of Your Life.” The annual publication focuses on those age 50 and older. Democrat, Republican organizations to meet
    The Phillips County Democratic Party will hold a meeting Monday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Paoli Town Hall. County Republicans will also have a reorganizational meeting Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. at SunSet View in Holyoke.
