Explore magazine looking for photo contest submissions, local advertisers
    Do you have photos of northeast Colorado? Consider entering them in the Explore photo contest, and it could end up on the cover of the magazine!
    Photos should include people, places or scenery in northeast Colorado. They must be a digital jpeg that can reproduce as an 8-inch-by-10-inch photograph. Include information about the location of the photo and name/address of the photographer.
    Deadline to submit photos is Friday, April 5. Email contest entries to gbaumgartner@fortmorgantimes.com.
    The 22nd annual Explore magazine is a travel and tourism guide for the High Plains. It will be distributed the week of May 20. Targeted print distribution includes Colorado welcome centers, rest areas and motels, while online distribution includes six news media sites and social media.
    Contributing newspapers are Holyoke Enterprise, Brush News-Tribune, Fort Morgan Times, Julesburg Advocate, Sterling Journal-Advocate and Akron News-Reporter.

Ballyneal to host spring shootout
    An individual entry sporting clay tournament will be held at Ballyneal Saturday, April 6. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the shoot at 10:30 a.m. The event includes lunch and a prize pool for the top finishers. For details or to reserve a spot, call 970-854-5900, ext. 1.
