Special section celebrates Emerald Awards
    In partnership with Holyoke School District and sponsoring businesses, The Holyoke Enterprise is pleased to present the 10th annual Emerald Awards special section, which can be found in this edition of the newspaper and online at holyokeenterprise.com under “Special Sections.” Featured award winners are Rhonda Mehring-Smith, Carly Daniel and Melanie Wheeler.
    
Register for kindergarten Thursday-Friday
    Parents of children who plan to attend kindergarten next year need to call the Holyoke Elementary School office at 970-854-3411 to schedule a registration appointment. Slots are available Thursday-Friday, April 25-26, between 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the school. Parents should bring the child’s immunization records and birth certificate to the appointment.
    Children must reach their 5th birthday by June 1, 2019, to be eligible for kindergarten during the 2019-2020 school year.
    
Calling all collectors!
    Phillips County Historical Society is hosting a toy and collectible show Sunday, April 28, from 1-4:30 p.m. at Phillips County Museum. Admission is free. Call Charley Triplette at 970-854-3256 for more information about signing up a display.
    The following day, Terry Haynes will be at the museum to talk about coin collecting and sports card collecting. A freewill donation soup supper begins at 6 p.m.
