Submit calendar info by June 19
Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is compiling the annual community calendar that will come out in August. Local events should be submitted for consideration on the calendar by Wednesday, June 19, by contacting Jody Maupin at 970-854-3517 or director@holyoke chamber.org.
Summer camp begins June 3
Phillips County Family Education Services is hosting a free summer camp for all ages Monday-Thursday, June 3-6 and 10-13, from noon-3 p.m. The afternoon will begin with lunch at Homesteaders Park (or Phillips County Event Center if the weather is bad). There will be activities, games, recreation, music, crafts, special guests and field trips. A baby sitter is provided, and an English class is also available for adults. Countywide cleanup is Friday and Saturday
Phillips County cleanup days for rural residents are Friday-Saturday, May 31-June 1. Phillips County Landfill will accept metal and trees. Appliances without Freon will be accepted only if tagged by a certified technician. The regular charge will be applied to electronic equipment, tires, shingles and grain dust.
Drawing class is Friday, June 7
Nancy Dee is facilitating a three-hour drawing class for Prairie Wind Art Center’s First Friday Art Discovery Day June 7. The class is offered at either 9 a.m.-noon or 6-9 p.m. for beginning or intermediate artists from middle school through adult. A supply list is available upon registration.
