Fireworks that shoot into the air illegal
Holyoke Police Department reminds everyone that certain fireworks are illegal in Colorado. Any firework that shoots into the air or explodes is illegal. This includes, but is not limited to, bottle rockets, Roman candles, firecrackers, mortars and M80s.
Some fireworks that are legal are fountains, snakes, ground spinners and sparklers.
Even with legal fireworks, parents should supervise children, and there are civil and criminal penalties should the fireworks start a fire.
Penalties for possession and use of illegal fireworks in Holyoke include confiscating the fireworks and fines up to $300. Should a person be issued a summons under the state statute, penalties can be up to $750 in fines and up to six months in jail.
