National Night Out will fill City Park next Tuesday, Aug. 6
In its second year, National Night Out promises to be just as fun as last year! The event is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 4-8 p.m. at Holyoke City Park.
The evening, which is planned by Holyoke Police Department in partnership with Star 92.3 and Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, will provide an opportunity for families to learn about law enforcement, the ambulance service and volunteer fire department. Interactions with local emergency responders and tours of emergency vehicles will be available.
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department will have a freewill donation meal set up in the park with pulled pork cooked by Happy Jacks Barbeque. PC Telcom will be providing watermelon too.
Holyoke Swimming Pool will have free open swim (kids under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult), and City of Holyoke Recreation Department will be hosting a water fight.
Other sponsored activities include Melissa Memorial Hospital’s bounce houses, First Pioneer National Bank’s petting zoo, the chamber’s dunk booth and State Farm’s child identification kits at the HPD booth. Holyoke cheerleaders will be performing, the Dozers Games trailer will be on site, and other booths will be set up throughout the park.
