Little cheerleaders to perform Oct. 4

Kids in grades K-6 have the opportunity to sign up for the fall cheer clinic. A special performance is planned at the Friday, Oct. 4, high school football game. Practices will be in the Holyoke JR/SR High commons area Thurday, Sept. 26, from 5:30-7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30-7 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:30-7 p.m. Practices are subject to change. Forms must be turned in to the high school or elementary school or to cheer coach Jennifer Halligan at the Holyoke Community Federal Credit Union by Wednesday, Sept. 25. For more info, call Halligan at 308-249-2259.

 

No school Friday

Students in Holyoke School District will have the day off school Friday, Sept. 20, due to a teacher inservice.

 

New club looking for 12-18-year-olds

A committee of Holyoke Lions Club members are interested in forming an Alpha Leo Club for 12-18-year-olds. Members will have opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their community and, of course, have lots of fun. A free and brief informational meeting is set for Monday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. at Holyoke Lions Den, 125 N. Campbell Ave. Refreshments will be provided, and parents/guardians are welcome to attend.
