Little cheerleaders to perform Oct. 4

Kids in grades K-6 have the opportunity to sign up for the fall cheer clinic. A special performance is planned at the Friday, Oct. 4, high school football game. Practices will be in the Holyoke JR/SR High commons area Thurday, Sept. 26, from 5:30-7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30-7 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:30-7 p.m. Practices are subject to change. Students in Holyoke School District will have the day off school Friday, Sept. 20, due to a teacher inservice.

New club looking for 12-18-year-olds

A committee of Holyoke Lions Club members are interested in forming an Alpha Leo Club for 12-18-year-olds. Members will have opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their community and, of course, have lots of fun. A free and brief informational meeting is set for Monday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. at Holyoke Lions Den, 125 N. Campbell Ave. Refreshments will be provided, and parents/guardians are welcome to attend.
