Baptist church kicks off Youth Nites

Youth Nites is a new program for preschoolers through sixth graders at Holyoke First Baptist Church on Wednesdays. Registration night is Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. with food provided.

Housing discussion is next Wednesday

Phillips County Economic Development is currently preparing a Phillips County-Wide Housing Needs Assessment to determine both the present and future housing needs of the county. PCED recently completed the citizen survey process in which more than 350 Phillips County residents provided their opinion on the county’s housing situation.

Phillips County residents now have the opportunity to participate directly in the development of the new housing needs assessment by attending one of two community housing discussions. The community discussions will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Haxtun Community Center and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke.

Hanna:Keelan Associates, P.C., a Nebraska-based community planning and research consulting firm who is assisting PCED in the completion of the housing needs assessment, will facilitate the discussions. For more information, questions and/or comments, contact Trisha Herman, executive director of PCED at admin@phillipscountyco.org.
