Hospital to host open house for new cancer center
Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke is pleased to announce an open house for its new Londa Wernet Bradford Cancer Center. The event begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at MMH. A brief welcome will be followed by refreshments and tours.
Wernet Bradford faced multiple myeloma for 13 years and died in 2015. She is remembered as being her same beautiful, loving, spirited self throughout those years, and she confronted the disease with resolve, perseverance and grace.
Old farming stories to highlight Saturday event
The public is invited to learn about the farming practices of yesteryear at an event hosted by Phillips/Sedgwick Farmers Union. Several old-time farmers from the area will be sharing their stories about how farming used to be, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Phillips County Event Center’s Biesemeier Room.
